About us
Joe Dan Ray III and Elmer Boyd established Ray & Boyd
Construction in 1974 in Cabot, Arkansas. Jimmy Ray joined the company in early
1975. Mr. Boyd later left the company and the company name was eventually
changed to Ray & Ray Construction. The company prospered and grew and in 1982,
Crown Metal Buildings was established as a manufacturer of steel buildings. In
1983, the business expanded again and opened a components branch, Steel Building
Components, in Sherwood, Arkansas.
By early 1986, Crown and Steel Building Components had both outgrown their
production facilities and construction was begun on a new
62,500 sq. ft. plant facility in Cabot to accommodate both
Crown and Steel Building Components. All three companies consolidated in
December 1986 at the new plant facility.
Crown Metal Buildings has evolved to become a full line manufacturer,
fabricating various types of buildings from mini-warehouse system, air craft "T"
hangers, farm buildings, commercial buildings, warehouse, industrial buildings,
two story office buildings, churches, and schools. Crown's in-house engineers
can certify and design buildings for any load requirements. After the buildings
are fabricated in Crown's plant facility, the buildings are delivered by Crown's
own fleet of trucks, assuring the customer of on time delivery.
Crown's sales volume has increased annually. This growth can be attributed to a
wider product range, expansion of the Crown dealer partnership, and the growing
National reputation of Quality Crown Buildings with competitive prices available
on attractive delivery schedules.
